How to perform various Maintenance and Service functions on your PC.
|
In general, Software and Drivers are provided in one of two ways.
-
Compressed ("zipped") format ("filename.ZIP"/"filename.RAR")
-
Self-executing, compressed ("zipped") format ("filename.EXE)
Compressed format files are "unzipped" by using Software such as WinZip or
WinRAR, which are freely available at various Shareware/Freeware sites, such as
www.tucows.com, etc
(Please Refer to the
"Links" page for more information, under the sub-heading
"Freeware and Shareware").
These packages are either "Freeware" (available for free) or free for a Trial
period ("Trialware").
Self-executing, compressed format files "unzip" themselves, usually also
installing themselves, although this is not necessarily true, especially for
Drivers.
Now that you understand this very important concept, you can carry on to the
topic of your choice.
